Prospective Student-Athlete Information - Volleyball

We are excited about your interest in the University of North Texas and Mean Green volleyball. Head coach Andrew Palileo's fourth year saw the Mean Green make their fourth-consecutive trip to the Conference USA tournament. Three members of the Mean Green garnered all-conference accolades. Juniors Holly Milam and Amanda Chamberlain were selected to the first team, while Emma Eakin earned all-freshman honors. Chamberlain was later selected All-Southwest Region honorable mention. North Texas will return 14 letterwinners in 2017, along with six newcomers joining the program next season. 

Quick Hits On North Texas

During the 2016-17 school year, the Mean Green soccer team won its third-straight Conference USA regular-season conference championship and the football team played in the Heart of Dallas Bowl for the second time in the last four years. Individually, 48 Mean Green athletes were named all-conference and five were named all-region.

Nine competitors advanced to the NCAA post-season play with three golfers competing in the NCAA Regionals, and six track and field athletes advancing to the NCAA West Preliminaries. Maria Kononova ended the tennis season ranked No. 78 in the country, which is the highest ranking for a Mean Green tennis player in school history.

The future looks bright at North Texas with two freshman receiving conference specialty awards and five newcomers being named to all-freshman teams this past season.

The Volleyball Coaching Staff

Please note that, per NCAA rules, coaches can only respond via e-mail to juniors (after September 1) and seniors in high school. Coaches must mail responses to freshmen and sophomores, per NCAA rules. You can call any North Texas coach, but they cannot return your phone call unless you are a senior in high school.

Facilities
North Texas moved into in a brand-new facility in 2006, the Mean Green Volleyball Center. Connected to the Volleyball Center is the office and locker room complex which houses team meeting rooms with built in audio/visual capabilities for volleyball, soccer, golf and swimming and softball teams. Amenities include state of the art locker rooms for volleyball, soccer and softball. Coaching staff offices, staff locker room, laundry facility, visitors and officials dressing rooms and auxiliary sport training room are included in this facility.

Academic Athletic Services
In the Fall of 2005, the academic and compliance staff relocated to the Mean Green Village. Located on Bonnie Brae, the new Student-Athlete Development Center is three times the size of the former academic center. The Center serves as the cornerstone of the Mean Green Village and is only a short walk from the surrounding sports facilities.
