Quick Hits:

  • Since falling in an upset to Charlotte at home on October 17, North Texas has rattled off seven consecutive wins, matching the longest streak of 2014. The Mean Green last won seven straight matches in the first month of the season when they stormed out to the best start in program history at 9-1. North Texas then went 3-7 in their second ten matches. So far, in the last third of the season, the Mean Green are 7-1 with two matches left to play.
  • North Texas, sitting at fourth in the current standings, has booked its ticket to the Conference USA Tournament for the second straight year. This is the Mean Green's second year of play in C-USA, both of which with Andrew Palileo at the helm.
  • The Mean Green is rolling after its 3-0 upset of Big 12 metroplex rival at home on Sunday night. North Texas picked up its second win (8-2 overall) in program history over the Horned Frogs, with the only other victory coming back in 2002. The Mean Green finished the season 1-3 against all power conference opponents, including 1-1 against Big 12 members.
  • Carnae Dillard's impressive weekend performances against Rice and TCU resulted in back-to-back Conference USA Player of the Week awards, a feat she has accomplished twice this year now. However, the awards for Dillard didn't stop there, as she was named the Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week, the first of such honor for a North Texas player. Sophomore setter Amy Henard was also recognized by Conference USA with her second career Setter of the Week award.
  • The Mean Green met the Roadrunners in San Antonio on the opening weekend of Conference USA play on Sept. 28, falling in a decieving score of three sets to none. UTSA holds a 15-6 advantage in the all-time series with North Texas.
  • North Texas needs to win one of its last two matches this year to secure its 6th 20+ win season in program history. It would be the first since the Mean Green won 26 games in 2012, the last year of Sun Belt play. The Mean Green, currently with 19 wins, has the sixth most victories in 38 seasons of volleyball program history.
