North Texas Volleyball Can't Keep Up With New Orleans

DENTON, Texas (11/07/09) - Despite 21 kills from Amy Huddleston, the Mean Green volleyball team couldn't overcome a potent New Orleans attack in a 3-1 loss (25-16, 24-26, 25-14, 25-20).

The junior hit a season-high .314 and scored a double-double with 13 digs for North Texas (11-18, 7-8 Sun Belt). The Privateers (16-11, 9-6 Sun Belt) countered with 21 kills from Lindsey Loyd, who posted a match-high .488 attack percentage. UNO hit .267 as a team, and out-killed NT 54-50.

Jessica Green led three NT players in double digit digs. Green got underneath 15 digs, while Huddleston had 13 and Sarah Willey had 11.

The Privateers controlled the net with an 8-3 edge on the block. Loyd paved the way with four assisted blocks for UNO.

North Texas returns to action on Monday night against Louisiana-Lafayette at 7 p.m.
