LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (10/31/08) Amy Huddleston led three players in double-figure kills, but the Mean Green volleyball team couldn’t overcome UALR in a 3-1 loss (25-21, 25-21, 19-25, 25-21).
The Mean Green (4-21, 2-10 Sun Belt West) posted an attack percentage over .200 for just the sixth time this season, but that wasn’t enough to top a UALR (21-7, 10-4 Sun Belt West) squad that landed 28.3 percent of its attacks on just 14 errors.
North Texas landed 20.3 percent of its attempts, but 27 attack errors and 11 service errors were too much to overcome. In its set-three win, the Mean Green posted 18 kills on .375 hitting.
Huddleston tied a career high with 16 kills on the night, followed by Salah Schoenecke and Roxana Casvean with 11 each.
Casvean excelled on the defensive side of the ball as well with a career-high 19 digs. Her efforts, along with Sarah Willey’s 10 digs made up a good portion of North Texas’ 62 total digs.
Marelle Lepmets quarterbacked the Mean Green to near perfection with a match-high 49 assists.
North Texas has now lost four straight, but returns to action on Sunday versus Arkansas State at 1 p.m.
