BOWLING GREEN, Kent. (10/15/05) The North Texas volleyball team (8-15, 2-4) suffered a 22-30, 22-30, 16-30 setback against Western Kentucky (21-2, 7-0) on Saturday afternoon at E.A. Diddle Arena in a Sun Belt Conference match.
The Mean Green dropped its fourth consecutive league match, while the Hilltoppers remained perfect at 7-0.
The Hilltoppers used a strong offensive attack to push past North Texas, recording 56 kills in three games on a .411 attack percentage. The Mean Green finished with 35 kills on a .194 hitting percentage.
North Texas attempted just four fewer attacks than WKU, but had three more errors and 17 fewer digs.
Tara Hooser led the Mean Green with 12 kills on a .379 attack percentage, both team highs. Ashley Bass finished with a team-high 31 assists, while Jessica Hulsebosch paced NT defensively with 11 digs.
WKU’s Jenna Gideon recorded a match-high 16 kills to lead the Hilltoppers.
North Texas breaks from SBC play on Thursday when it hosts Oral Roberts at the Snake Pit at 7 p.m.
