Quick Hits:

  • North Texas is looking to continue its current two game winning streak after home victories over La Tech and Marshall last weekend. Southern Miss has yet to win back-to-back conference matches this year. The Golden Eagles are coming off a 3-1 victory against Charlotte on Saturday. Western Kentucky puts a six match winning streak on the line, playing host to Marshall on Friday before taking on the Mean Green.
  • Western Kentucky is currently tied for the top spot in Conference USA with an unblemished conference record (4-0). North Texas (3-2) looks to move up from the sixth spot in the standings, while Southern Miss lies in eighth. In the C-USA preseason poll, WKU was picked to finish second behind UTSA, North Texas was picked fourth, and Southern Miss was slated to finish fifth.
  • The Mean Green are 2-3 in the all-time series with Southern Miss dating back to 1991, with the last match being won by North Texas in five sets just last year. Western Kentucky has had a strong upperhand in the historical tilt, as the former Sun Belt foes have met 15 times since the inaugural match in 2000. North Texas has only swiped victory once over the Hilltoppers in that span.
  • Junior outside hitter Carnae Dillard looks to continue leading not only the Mean Green but the conference and nation as well. Dillard has recorded a nation-high 13 double-doubles so far this season and currently ranks among the top five in three other statistical categories. All of which lead Conference USA.
  • North Texas, coming off an emotional weekend, looks to take their inspiration on the road with them. Coaches and players have expressed their desire to be a part of a team that plays for something bigger than themselves. Follow the inspiration born from a tragic story with #CamStrong on Twitter.
