Game Notes

DENTON, Texas – The North Texas volleyball team will look to get back on track in another set of tough road matches this weekend in the Natural state. The Mean Green will take on UALR on Friday and Arkansas State on Saturday night.

Shelley Morton will be a key to NT’s success in Arkansas. The senior ranks 8th in league-only matches with 3.11 kills per set, and she is also averaging 2.78 digs per set. Morton has posted a double-double in three of the four SBC matches this year.

Lacy Reasons took full advantage of NT’s new offensive looks last weekend in Louisiana, posting 2.7 kills per set on .304 hitting in the two matches. The senior was just three digs shy of her first career double-double against ULM with 15 kills and seven digs.

North Texas was picked to repeat as SBC West Division champions on the preseason poll. NT, coming off the program’s first 20-win campaign and West Division title since 2006, garnered a division-high 65 points and seven first-place votes. Arkansas State picked up 60 points and four first-place votes.

North Texas returns home to face Denver on Monday night at 7 p.m.
