Box Score

NEW ORLEANS (10/4/09) - The North Texas volleyball team just missed out on the first Louisiana road sweep in school history, falling in three sets at New Orleans (25-22, 25-17, 25-20).

North Texas (6-12, 2-2 Sun Belt) swept ULM on Friday night before knocking off Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday. The Privateers (11-5, 4-0 Sun Belt), the preseason favorite in the SBC West Division, pounded the Mean Green with .337 hitting on 101 attempts.

Amy Huddleston landed a match-high 11 kills and a team-best nine digs, falling just one dig short of her third straight double-double. The junior already has six double-doubles this year, and is now just 98 kills away from 10th in school history in career kills.

For the first time this season NT was held without a service ace. Averaging 1.17 aces per set this year, the Mean Green had at least one ace in each of its last 29 matches dating back to 2008.

The Mean Green returns to action at home against Florida Atlantic and Florida International next weekend.
