BOCA RATON, Fla. - Ken Murczek's first Sun Belt Conference match as the head coach of the North Texas volleyball team was like a day at the beach. The Mean Green swept its first of two Sunshine State foes, Florida Atlantic, 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-18) on Friday evening.
North Texas (9-7, 1-0 SBC West) hit .347 as a team and improved to 7-0 in three-set matches in 2010. The Owls (8-7, 0-1 SBC East) have lost six of their last eight matches, and their last two to the Mean Green.
"We were pretty good tonight," Murczek said. "We stuck them in some pretty good rotations, and I'm really excited about what we accomplished tonight."
