Volleyball Overcomes Deficits, Owls In 3-0 Win

DENTON, Texas – Courtney Windham and the comeback kids of the North Texas volleyball team rallied from huge deficits to drop Kennesaw State and finish second in the Mean Green Volleyball Classic (25-14, 29-27, 25-13).

Windham finished with a career-best 19 kills on .351 hitting, followed by 12 kills on .364 hitting from Melanie Boykins. Windham earned all-tournament team honors along with Shelley Morton, who made her return to from injury this weekend.

North Texas trailed the Owls 4-0 to open the first set and 7-1 to start the second, but was able to overcome both early deficits thanks to stellar defense. NT held KSU to .036 hitting for the match and out-dug the Owls 38-29. Sarah Willey tallied a match-high 15 digs for NT.
