Mean Green Volleyball Hits The Road For Three Matches

Sept. 14, 2016

DENTON – After its most successful weekend of 2016, the Mean Green volleyball team has established confidence and momentum heading into the Holiday Inn-Express SFA Volleyball Invitational beginning Fri., Sept. 16 in Nacogdoches, Texas. At 4-7, North Texas seeks to build on that momentum in the final week before opening Conference USA play.

Amanda Chamberlain has been a catalyst for North Texas, leading the team with 116 kills (2.83 kills per set). She set a new career-high with 23 kills versus UNC-Wilmington. Chamberlain, a .324 hitter, is currently hitting 54-points higher than her career average at .378, a mark good for third in C-USA.

Karley York has posted 10 or more assists in each of the last six matches, earning a start in four of those. Her 47 assists marked a new career-high for the sophomore setter. York has also tallied a double-double in four of the last five matches, falling one dig short versus UNCW.

Jordyn Williams and Alexis Wright continue to pace the Mean Green in blocks with 32 and 31, respectively.
