Dallas (8/31/05) - The SMU volleyball team defeated North Texas, 3-0, on Wednesday night at Moody Coliseum.
The Mustangs won by scores of 30-18, 30-26, 30-28 and improved their record to 2-1, while the Mean Green (0-4) remained winless on the year.
Sophomore Katy Prokof led the offense with nine kills and freshman Rachel Raley followed with seven. Sophomore Jessica Hulsebosch led the defense with a season-high 25 digs.
The Mean Green out hit the Mustangs in the third game with a .212 hitting percentage but was unable to notch the victory. SMU recorded a .160 hitting percentage in the match compared to NT’s .070.
North Texas returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 3 when it competes in the Baylor Invitational.
