Amanda Chamberlain Named C-USA Offensive Player of the Week
Senior Middle Blocker Posted Team-High 50 Kills
DENTON - North Texas volleyball's Amanda Chamberlain earned her first career Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week selection, announced by the conference office Monday.
Chamberlain posted a team-high 50 kills over the weekend, earning North Texas Invitational MVP honors and helping the Mean Green to a 2-1 record and a North Texas Invitational title.
"Amanda had a great weekend of doing her thing," Mean Green head coach Andrew Palileo said. "She has been progressing each year to improve, and we saw a preview of what her senior year will be like."
She finished the weekend as the team leader in attack percentage (.575), block solos (3), block assists (14) and total blocks (17). Chamberlain had 20 kills in the season opener against Tulsa and surpassed the 700 career kill mark.
