WICHITA, Kan. (8/25/07) Jessica Hulsebosch recorded the 78th double-figure dig match of her career, but it wasn’t enough as Kansas State powered past the Mean Green volleyball team, 3-0 (19-30, 17-30, 6-30).
The senior, who is already the program’s all-time leader in digs, posted 12 to bring her school-record career total to 1,648.
Once again, the Mean Green (0-2) faced a hot hitting team in Kansas State (2-0). The Wildcats landed 33.3 percent of their shots, dwarfing North Texas’ kill total 47-19.
Playing in only the second match of her career, Amy Huddleston stood out with a team-high six kills. The freshman led the Mean Green offense with 23 attacks.
Brooke Engel’s streak of six matches with a service ace came to an end, as did NT’s 35 match run. Engel led the nation in service aces in 2006, and has two aces this year to her credit.
The Mean Green returns to action tonight versus Cal Poly at 5 p.m.
