North Texas Volleyball Set For Remaining Spring Competition
Tough Schedule Includes One Home Contest, Matchups With Texas, Texas A&M
DENTON - The Mean Green volleyball team continues its spring exhibition season when it hosts Oklahoma at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, from the North Texas Volleyball Center.
Wednesday's contest will be the first formal match for the Mean Green this offseason, and it is the only match that will take place in Denton. In March, the team traveled to Hawaii in a trip that included practice and scrimmages with Chaminade University, Hawaii Pacific and the University of Hawaii.
The match against Oklahoma is the first of three competitions that North Texas has scheduled for the spring. On Saturday, April 18, the Mean Green heads to Dallas to compete in the College Showcase, an event that features showdowns with Texas Tech, Baylor and a Texas team that made it to the final four in 2014. North Texas will then conclude its spring season with an April 21 match against SMU at Moody Coliseum.
The spring slate is far from an easy one as it includes some of the toughest competition in the DFW area. The field includes two teams that competed in the NCAA Tournament last season in Oklahoma and Texas. Additionally, four of the five teams finished in the top-75 in the final RPI rankings of the season.
