VIDEO: North Texas Volleyball Takes Hawaii

April 2, 2015

DENTON - North Texas volleyball had the unique experience of traveling to Hawaii for spring break in a trip that included plenty of work and play.

The journey marked the official start of the team's spring season as North Texas practiced and scrimmaged with Chaminade University, Hawaii Pacific and the University of Hawaii.

The Mean Green spent the remainder of the six day trip practicing, training and enjoying local landmarks. Led by head coach Andrew Palileo - a Hawaii native - players, coaches and support staff spent time whale watching, experiencing a luau, hiking up Diamond Head trail and lounging on various beaches.

"I wanted the team to see that Hawaii is a part of the United States but it's still very different," Palileo said. "I think they learned a lot and we were able to have a good time over spring break while still being able to compete."
