Fifer Joins Mean Green Volleyball As Assistant Coach
Latest Addition To North Texas Staff Spent Time At TCU
DENTON - Head coach Andrew Palileo has announced the addition of Kaylee Fifer as an assistant coach to the North Texas volleyball staff. Fifer joins the Mean Green after spending two seasons at TCU as a graduate assistant.
"I am excited to have Kaylee join our staff," head coach Andrew Palileo said. "She had the opportunity to work under good coaches at TCU and I'm looking forward to her contribution to our volleyball program, both as a coach and mentor for our student-athletes."
Fifer handled a variety of roles during her time with the Horned Frogs and was on staff when TCU qualified for the NCAA Tournament this past season. In her GA role, Fifer was primarily in charge of compiling statistical analytics, handling video during practices and games, and coaching at camps and clinics throughout the year.
As a player, Fifer saw action in every match of her college career and was a consistent starter at setter for Colgate University. A three-time All-Patriot League selection, Fifer notched two of the top-10 assist seasons in team history, and her 3,645 career assists is still good for second all-time.
"I was extremely excited with the opening of this job and the possibility of working with both Coach Palileo and Coach Nguyen at North Texas," Fifer said. "They both bring several years of coaching and mentoring experience to this program and I wanted to be a part of that and learn from them. Furthermore, the team and environment Coach Palileo and UNT have fostered is exactly what I wanted to be a part of, as this program is emerging quickly both in Texas as well as nationally."
Fifer graduated from Colgate in 2013 with a degree in history, and this May she will receive a Master's in Liberal Arts from TCU. A Lantana native, Fifer attended Denton ISD's Guyer High School.
