North Texas Student-Athletes Recognized At Academic Night
Mean Green Student-Athletes Honored At Basketball Game
DENTON - The University of North Texas honored 279 student-athletes for their academic achievements during the 2016 spring and fall semesters at halftime of Thursday night's men's basketball game at the Super Pit.
Students with grade-point averages of 3.00-3.49 were placed on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll, students with G.P.A's of 3.50-3.99 were on the Dean's List and students with a 4.00 G.P.A made the President's List. A student-athlete had to earn at least a G.P.A of 3.0 in one of the two semesters to make the honor roll.
The Mean Green volleyball team held the highest cumulative team G.P.A during the combined two 2016 semesters with 16 student-athletes earning at least a 3.0 G.P.A. Eight volleyball players posted a 4.0 G.P.A in at least one of the two semesters.
The tennis team followed with the second-highest combined G.P.A. with 11 student-athletes earning at least a 3.0 GPA.
Football had the most student-athletes on the honor roll with 63. The women’s track and field team followed with 41 student-athletes earning at least a 3.0 G.P.A.
