DENTON - Junior Carnae Dillard has been invited to the U.S. Women’s National Team open tryouts. The reigning Conference USA Player of the Year will travel to Colorado for team auditions, which will take place February 20-22 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.

Dillard will join a group of about 232 athletes from 90 colleges that are trying to earn a spot with the U.S. Women’s National Team, U.S. Collegiate National Teams Program or the U.S. Junior National Team. As a 20-year-old with college eligibility remaining, Dillard will be trying for a spot in the collegiate national team program.

This won’t be the first time that a member of the Mean Green volleyball team has been invited to national team tryouts. In 2013, middle blocker Courtney Windham was named to the USA Volleyball Women’s Senior A2 Team after being named a first-team All-Sun Belt Conference selection.

A live stream of the tryout will be available at 3 p.m. CST on Friday, Feb. 20. It can be accessed here. Viewers can also keep up with the action online by following @USAVolleyball and #USAVTryout on Twitter.
