MIAMI – The North Texas volleyball team could not find its rhythm on the backend of its season-ending Florida road trip and was knocked off by FIU in three sets.

“We came out flat and, on the road, you just can’t win like that,” head coach Andrew Palileo said. “We need to pick up our energy and intensity, and I believe we will do that. I will address that in the coming days as we prepare for our first Conference USA tournament.”

FIU controlled the tempo of the match. It held the potent North Texas attack to a mere .159 hitting percentage.

The Mean Green fell to 8-6 in C-USA play with the loss and earned the fifth seed in the C-USA volleyball tournament following a three-way tie with Marshall and Middle Tennessee.
