#MGVB Gets Swept By UAB, Heads To San Antonio On Sunday
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – North Texas volleyball was swept for the fifth time this season by the UAB Dragons. With the loss, the Mean Green falls to 4-3 in conference play.
“It’s tough to lose on the road in a conference game that I felt we had an opportunity to win,” head coach Andrew Palileo said. “We will regroup quickly because we have to with a quality opponent in UTSA coming up on Sunday.”
The Mean Green held the early momentum in the first set only to allow the Dragons to steal it away late.
In the second set, North Texas found some traction, but untimely service faults late in the set ultimately doomed the Mean Green’s chances to even the match.
UAB closed out the match in the third frame behind a .287 attack percentage.
Sophomore Carnae Dillard posted her 19th double-double on the season with 13 kills and 10 digs.
The Mean Green returns to action on Oct. 20 in San Antonio against UTSA at 1 p.m.
