DENTON , Texas - After cruising through two sets, the North Texas volleyball team found itself in a 22-17 hole to Houston Baptist in the third set. Thanks to Courtney Windham's play at the net the Mean Green not only came back to win, but clinched the North Texas Invitational crown - the program's first ever tournament victory at home (25-21, 25-21, 25-23).
Windham pounded HBU (1-1) with 11 kills, but added a career-high six blocks, the last of which ended the match. NT (3-0) remains undefeated on the year, and has yet to drop a set.
Shelby Tamura was a force on the back line with 21 digs, while the setting duo of Camille Cherry and May Allen accounted for 19 and 17 assists, respectively.
North Texas will be back in action again tonight against Lamar at 7:30 p.m.
