Tennis Heads To HEB Baylor Invitational

The last time the Mean Green visited Waco was for the Wilson/ITA Texas Regional Oct. 16-20, where North Texas claimed its biggest win in school history over Baylor's No. 8 nationally ranked doubles team.
"We have two more opportunities this fall to compete in tournaments and make improvements," head coach Sujay Lama said. "We'll have three new doubles teams to keep things fresh and also to see some new combinations. As a team, it's important for us to start putting some wins together and building a positive momentum for spring."

Play begins on Friday with doubles action, including two pairs from North Texas taking the court at 8 a.m. Irnina Paraschiv will team up with Amy Joubert this weekend and faceoff with Rice's Julie Chao and Jessica Jackson, while Narine Kazarova and Madura Ranganathan join up to take on an Ole Miss duo of Abigail Guthrie and Phillipa Reakes.
Teams that will be in action at the HEB Baylor Invitational include Baylor, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Rice, Texas-Arlington and Wichita State.
The Mean Green will return home to host the North Texas Classic next weekend, Nov. 6th and 7th, for their fall finale. Teams from Lamar, Texas-Arlington and Northwestern State will be competing.
