Mean Green Duo Advance To Semi-Finals Of Texas Regional

Paraschiv and Ranganathan, who captured the a landmark win Sunday over Baylor's No. 8 ranked Csilla Borsanyi and Lenka Broosova, took down Texas A&M's Stephanie Davidson and Sheri Oliver 8-6.
"I'm very proud of how the girls came out this morning and battled," head coach Sujay Lama said. "They came out a little emotionally flat, which we expected, but they played their game and came away with the victory. It was another good day for North Texas Tennis."
The Mean Green duo jumped out to a 7-3 lead and had several match points along the way, before finally pulling it out in the 14th game.
"I think we are playing well as a team, and we are playing hard when it really matters and that made the difference in the end," said Ranganathan.
The top ranked North Texas doubles teams will be back in action on Tuesday, to face the 13th ranked doubles team in the nation from SMU in Pavi Francis and Lesniak Marta.
"Yesterday was a really good win, and I think that after these matches we have won, I'm just hoping we can come out and compete hard again tomorrow," Paraschiv said. "We just have to come out and play our game and not worry about who is on the other side."
If the North Texas pair can claim a victory Tuesday Morning, they will face off in the Texas Regional Final with the winner of the other semi-final match between the six seed from the University of Texas and a pair from Texas A&M.
