Tennis Receives ITA All-Academic Team Nod

DENTON, Texas - For the fourth time in head coach Sujay Lama's five years at North Texas, Mean Green tennis was named an ITA All-Academic Team for the 2010-11 academic year.

Soon-to-be senior Paula Dinuta, as well as recent graduates Amy Joubert, Shannon MacKenzie and Madura Ranganathan were also named ITA Scholar Athletes.

"I am very proud of our ladies accomplishments in the class room," said Lama. "It's great to see their hard work pay off. Our mission has always been to strive for academic and athletic excellence. These ladies are terrific ambassadors for North Texas athletics."

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above. ITA Scholar-Athlete status is awarded to players that have a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year.

North Texas was one of three Sun Belt Schools and 105 programs nationally to earn All-Academic Team honors. Only 20 female student-athletes received scholar athlete recognition in the Sun Belt Conference for the 2009 season.
