The Tennis Recruiting Network named the 2011-12 recruiting class for North Texas to its top-10 mid-major rankings last week.
The rankings, which only feature incoming freshman and not transfers, have the Mean Green with the ninth best class in the mid-major ranks.
North Texas will be bringing in two freshman, Franziska Sprinkmeyer and Ksenya Bardabush from overseas, as well as transfers Valentina Starkova (Arkansas) and Ilona Serchenko (McNeese State).
Sprikmeyer, a native of Germany, was ranked in the top-300 in the U21 German rankings and was among the top-five in hersState (Niedersachsen). She was a member of the club tennis team TV Parta 87 from 2006-08, which participated in Regionaliga, the third highest league in Germany.
Bardabush comes to the Mean Green from Lutsk, Ukraine as the 30th ranked women's player in Ukraine. She was world ranked in double on the WTA circuit, and was ranked top 500 singles in the ITF Junior world rankings.
North Texas was the only member of the Sun Belt Conference to appear in the rankings.
