NOTES | Championship Central
The Mean Green have met Tulsa once this year, with the then 40th ranked Golden Hurricane taking the match 7-0.
A different line-up and a different outlook have the Mean Green poised to continue its hot streak and come away with the upset.
Dating back to the match with Tulsa on March 5, sophomore Paula Dinuta has reeled off wins in 12 of her 13 matches, three of which were in the Sun Belt Tournament.
"I think that this is a big opportunity for us," said Dinuta. "We just have to play the way we played at the end of the season and if we do that we will for sure have a chance to beat them. We are looking forward to going down there and playing our best."
Senior Catalina Cruz, the SBC Tournament Most Outstanding Player, will be looking to build off of her marathon match to clinch the victory over FIU and the Mean Green's first championship.
The winner of this match will go on to face-off with the winner of No. 1 overall seed Baylor and Northwestern State on Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Baylor Tennis Center.
