North Texas Tennis Hosts 2017 C-USA Championship

DENTON -- The North Texas tennis team will host the 2017 Conference USA Championship starting with first-round matches on Thursday at 9 a.m. The 14-team single elimination tournament will be played at the Mean Green's Waranch Tennis Complex and runs through Sunday. All the matches are free and open to the public. 

North Texas earned a No. 5 seed and plays No. 12 Middle Tennessee in the first round on Thursday at noon. The Mean Green haven't lost a first-round conference tournament match since 2007. They have yet to play the Blue Raiders since joining C-USA in 2013. 

Two matches from each side of the bracket will be played at a time. No. 1 Rice and No. 2 Florida International both received a first-round bye and will play in the morning matches on Friday in the quarterfinals.
