Middle Tennessee and Troy Close Out Regular Season For Mean Green

DENTON, Texas (4/15/10) - The 2010 regular season comes to an end this weekend for North Texas tennis with in conference matches against Middle Tennessee and Troy in Murfreesboro, Tenn., Friday afternoon and Sunday morning respectively.

The Mean Green (12-6) will lock-up one of the top seeds in the Sun Belt Conference tournament with two victories this weekend.

"We had a great week of practice and we are looking forward to playing our last two regular season matches," said head coach Sujay Lama. "The key for us is to focus on our execution and continue competing hard and enjoy this journey."

Junior Narine Kazarova will be looking to extend her personal singles winning streak to nine matches with two victories this weekend. 

The longest such streak on the team this season came from Sophomore Paula Dinuta who won eight matches in a row from March 6 to April 9.

North Texas, who saw its six match win streak come to an end Sunday against No. 42 Rice, is looking to get back on the right foot heading into the SBC Championship, which will take place April 22-25 in New Orleans, La.

Middle Tennessee (8-7) comes in on a two match losing streak.  They lost 6-1 to Denver, a team the Mean Green beat 4-3, and 6-1 to Memphis.

Troy (9-7) has won its last eight after starting the season 2-7.
