Tennis Set For SBC Showdown with Denver

DENTON, Texas - North Texas tennis will hit the road to face-off with Sun Belt Conference rival Denver on Sunday morning at the Stapleton Tennis Complex.

The Mean Green (6-9) is currently riding a three match winning streak, while Denver (6-11) is looking to get back on track after dropping a match Thursday afternoon to Oklahoma State.

"We are starting to play well and the goal is to keep on building on the momentum we've got," said head coach Sujay Lama. "It's important for us to improve with each match so that we have confidence heading into conference championship. Denver will be tremendous challenge for us."

Juniors Nadia Lee and Irina Paraschiv have been leading North Texas as of late.

Lee went a perfect 4-0 last weekend, including handing the No. 2 doubles team from Northwestern State their third loss in the last two seasons.

Paraschiv has paced the team from the No. 1 singles slot since late February and shows no signs of letting up, dropping less than a handful of singles matches since then.

The match is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. CT.
