DENTON — The North Texas tennis team will welcome No. 45 New Mexico to the metroplex this weekend, but with the chance of rain hovering around 70 percent on Friday, relocation of the match may be a possibility.

Update: Instead of the regularly-scheduled 3 p.m. opening serve from the Waranch Tennis Complex, continued rainy conditions have forced the match to be moved to the Bent Tree Country Club in Dallas. The new start time is 7 p.m. on Friday evening.

“New Mexico is a well-coached team and we need to be ready to compete from the first point,” head coach Sujay Lama said. “As has been the case all season, we do well when we focus on our preparation and execution. We have had a good couple of days in practice and will be ready to give our very best indoors or outdoors come game time.”

North Texas (6-7) will be the home team for the matchup with the Lobos, a fact that could be advantageous for the Mean Green. So far this year the team is 4-0 at home and is coming off a 4-3 win over Penn on March 6. Four North Texas players enter Friday's match off of singles wins, including senior Agustina Valenzuela who is a team-best 9-5 in the spring.

No. 45 New Mexico (6-5) used a 4-3 win to take down No. 40 Rice last weekend. Redshirt junior Andrea LeBlanc, the 115th-ranked singles player in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll, is 20-9 in 2015-16.
