Mean Green Tennis Heads North To No. 40 Tulsa And Kansas State
DENTON, Texas - North Texas Tennis will hit the road for a tough stretch of matches against No. 40 Tulsa and Kansas State, Friday and Saturday, in Tulsa, Okla.
The Mean Green (5-3) is coming off of a big win over conference rival South Alabama and a tough loss to No. 37 Florida International.
Week Five Notes
"The off week gave us a chance to reflect on where we are and what we need to do to continue improving," said head coach Sujay Lama. "Our focus was on mental toughness and dealing positively with adversities under pressure. The matches this weekend gives us an opportunity to work on the things we have been emphasizing this past two weeks. These are two good teams we are facing and we are looking forward to the challenge."
Tulsa (9-4) enters the dual on a three-match win streak. The Golden Hurricane has defeated Kansas (6-1), Colorado State (7-0) and Nebraska (5-2) in the last two weeks.
Kansas State (3-3) dropped a tough match to in-state rival Wichita State 4-3 last weekend and will be looking to bounce back.
North Texas will face Tulsa Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center before squaring off with the Wildcats Saturday afternoon.
