DENVER (3/5/06) -- The North Texas women’s tennis team completed a difficult weekend road trip on Sunday, falling 5-2 to No. 52 Denver at the Stapleton Tennis Pavilion.
The Mean Green fell to 4-9 on the season, also dropping matches against Alabama-Birmingham on Friday and Colorado State on Saturday. Colorado State and Alabama-Birmingham were both ranked nationally as recently as 2001.
Megan Schmulbach led the way for North Texas, winning all three of her singles matches over the weekend. Schmulbach has now won 12 matches on the season, including her last five contests in a row.
North Texas continues a six-match road swing on Sunday, March 12, at No. 42 Florida International at 11 a.m. (CST). The Mean Green will then play Florida Atlantic on Monday (1 p.m. CST) and Stetson on Tuesday (2:30 p.m. CST).
