FT. MYERS. Fla. - Freshman Isabel Bos won her first collegiate match in only her second appearance at the Florida Gulf Coast Hilton Garden Inn Invitational on Sunday.
After falling in her first match yesterday, Bos rebounded to defeat South Florida's Kate Parker in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.
Three other members of the Mean Green tennis team emerged from their matches victorious as well.
Senior Madura Ranganathan was dominant yet again as she cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win against South Florida's Alessandra Bonte. Through two matches in the tournament, Ranganathan has lost a total of five games.
Nadia Lee was another North Texas athlete to win her singles match. The junior played a tough first set, but ended up winning them both to register a 7-5, 6-3 finish.
Lee joined Ranaganthan as the only two match winners on the day as the duo also won their doubles match in decisive fashion 8-1.
The Mean Green will complete the Florida Gulf Coast Hilton Garden Inn Invitational on Monday and begin dual match play next Saturday, Jan. 22 against nationally ranked Arkansas.
