No. 60 North Texas Falls To No.34 Oklahoma

Jan. 19, 2014

NORMAN, Okla. -The 34th ranked Sooners shut out the Mean Green, in Norman today.

“We were defeated by a very good team today,” said head coach Sujay Lama. “Our inexperience showed in doubles but I’m happy with the resilience we showed in singles. Not having Kseniya and Franziska in the lineup right now right now is a challenge but in the long run these underclassmen will benefit a great deal.”

The Mean Green went 0-7 against the nationally-ranked team and put up a fight at the No.2 spot. Newcomer Kamilla Galieva went won her second set against Ritchie who then took the third.

North Texas heads to California for the ITA-Kickoff beginning this Friday, Jan. 24, where they will take on USC at 1 p.m.
