DENTON, Texas- North Texas diving will exert their end of papers and finals celebration on the boards this weekend as they head down to San Antonio for the Incarnate Word Invitational. The nationally ranked Mean Green (7th, CollegeSwimming.com / CSCAA Mid-Major Poll) are coming off a monstrous performance at the Mizzou Invite, bringing home a fourth place finish, a meet record, 10 new school records, and a new Sun Belt Conference All-Time record.
Sophomore Catherine Johnson set the highest diving score in North Texas history for the three-meter diving, receiving a score of 281.70. She topped Delia Covo's previous record (280.15) dating back to October 2010.
Freshman Rebecca Taylor participated in platform diving, the first Mean Green diver to ever compete in the event, receiving a score of 162.35.
The invite will be held at Palo Alto College in San Antonio, Texas this weekend, Dec. 17-18.
