Miller Earns First Career Diver of the Week Honor
Freshman Became Program's 10th-Best Performer in Three-Meter Dive
IRVING - Freshman Meghan Miller was named Conference USA’s Diver of the Week, announced Wednesday by the conference office. North Texas has had at least one diver of the week in each of its four seasons in C-USA, and Miller becomes the first freshman to do so.
Miller picked up her second collegiate win against No. 16 Rice from the three-meter board. She followed it up with a fifth-place finish in the same event against Houston on Saturday with a score of 237.82, making Miller the 10th-best performer in the event in school history. The Woodbury, Minn., native also took fourth in the one-meter dive with a score of 227.25.
"She has stayed focused on the tasks at hand and continues to show that she has what it takes to compete at this level," North Texas diving coach Mark Murdock said.
Miller and the Mean Green divers return to action on Nov. 17 at the Houston Invitational.
