DENTON (10/24/06) After a successful meet against Austin College this past weekend, the North Texas Swimming and Diving team travels to Fort Worth to take on TCU and Incarnate Word.
North Texas has defeated Incarnate Word both times they have met, which began in 2004. They have yet to register a victory over TCU in their last 14 meetings, but Head Coach Joe Dykstra is optimistic they can break that streak.
“The girls have been doing very well,” said Dykstra. “I am feeling very good about this team as we enter competition on Wednesday against TCU.”
Already, under Dykstra’s tenure, the team has broken two school records during the first two meets of the season.
Junior transfer Hannah Bakke has been a part of both school record breaking groups. She broke the school record in the 100 breaststroke during the annual Green vs. White meet last weekend with a time of 1:05.97, and was a part of the 200 medley realy team that broke a school record during this weekend’s meet against Austin College.
