Swimming And Diving Set To Host A&M, Northern Arizona

DENTON, Texas (10/23/07) After one week out of the pool, the North Texas swimming and diving team returns to the Pohl Recreation Center where they will play host to Texas A&M and Northern Arizona in a double-dual meet on homecoming Saturday.

The Mean Green will be searching for its first victory over the Aggies of Texas A&M and will square off with Northern Arizona for the first time in school history.

A&M is ranked No. 5 in the latest polls by collegeswimming.com and is coming off convincing victories over Big XII foes Missouri and Iowa State. The Aggies hold a 7-0 series advantage over the Mean Green.

North Texas will run into a Northern Arizona squad who placed third last year in the West Athletic Conference Championship, but is comprised of more than half newcomers for the 2007-08 season. 24 of the 35 Northern Arizona swimmers are either freshmen or sophomores.

The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
