DENTON (10/14/06) Despite junior Hannah Bakke’s school record in the 100 breaststroke, the Green team won the annual Green vs. White swim meet with a score of 160 to 134.
In Bakke’s first meet at North Texas, she set a school record with a time of 1:05.97, but was unable to defeat the Green team, who nearly missed a trio of school records.
Newcomer Alicia Hale, swimming for the Green team, swam the second best time in school history two events. In the 1000 freestyle she finished with a time of 10:38.10, and in the 200 individual medley, she notched a time of 2:12.67.
The Green team’s Alesha Olesen swam the second fastest time in school history in the 100 butterfly with a time of 59.65.
In the 200 yard medley relay, the white team, consisting of Tiffany Graham, Hannah Bakke, Lauren Harris, and Elizabeth Weiss, swam the second fastest time in school
history with a time of 1:50.57.
The Mean Green is back in action Sat, Oct. 21st against Austin College, and return home to compete against SMU on Fri, Nov. 10th.
