DENTON — Looking to build on its second-place finish at the North Texas Relays, the North Texas Swimming & Diving team returns to the friendly confines of the Pohl Recreation Center and the PEB Building, welcoming Incarnate Word and Liberty for a double-dual meet on Saturday morning.

It’s the Mean Green’s first regular-season home meet of the season and it’s one of just two home meets on campus for the 2015-16 season, with TCU later visiting North Texas for a dual meet on Friday, Jan. 29.

After starting the season with three exhibition meets, North Texas dove into regular-season action this past weekend at the North Texas Relays. The Mean Green won two individual relay events and placed second in five other events to edge Houston and Little Rock for second place overall, but fell just short to SMU for first place at the meet.

The team of senior Bianca Bocsa, freshman Natalia Kwiatkowska and junior Ash Stone combined for a first-place finish in the 300 backstroke relay, while an all-newcomer team of sophomore Claudia Kitching, freshman Kathleen Rousset and freshman Meaghan Rousset won the 300 breaststroke relay.

Liberty will be making its first-ever trip to Texas this weekend, competing in a pair of double-dual meets, beginning its weekend at TCU on Friday, before traveling to North Texas on Saturday. The Lady Flames enter the weekend a 1-2 dual-meet record and its highest national rankings in program history. They are No. 30 in the Team Rankings and No. 5 in the Mid-Major Rankings.

Incarnate Word, a familiar opponent for North Texas, will open the 2015-16 season this weekend, also competing in that double-dual meet at TCU on Friday, before closing the weekend at North Texas on Saturday. North Texas and Incarnate Word have met five previous times, with the Mean Green holding a 5-0 advantage in those meetings, including a 127-116 win in San Antonio this past season.

The two teams will see each other again later this season at the UIW Christmas Invitational (Dec. 18-20). Swimming action from the Pohl Recreation Center begins at 11 a.m., while diving action from the PEB Building begins at 10:15 a.m.
