Swimming and Diving Earns Third Consecutive Scholar All-America Team Honor

DENTON, Texas (7/6/2010)—The North Texas swimming and diving team earned its third consecutive Collegiate Swim Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America Team, the association announced on Tuesday.

The Mean Green recorded the third-highest GPA in the Sun Belt Conference and the fifth-highest in the state of Texas with a mark of 3.2. Overall, UNT placed 91st out of the 127 teams honored in Division I.

The CSCAA honors the top NCAA Division I programs with the highest team grade point averages ranging from 3.0-4.0. North Texas was honored last year with a 3.36 GPA.

Senior Emily Floyd was named to the CSCAA Scholar All-America team in June, which requires swimmers achieve an NCAA B-cut time with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

The Mean Green completed the 2009-10 season ranked 16th in the CSCAA/CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major poll. North Texas finished third at the Sun Belt Conference Championship.
