DENTON, Texas - North Texas had the nation’s second-highest GPA for 2013 in Division I women’s swimming and diving, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America announced this week.
“I couldn't be more proud of how hard our team has worked in the classroom and that work has definitely paid off this fall after we finished second in the nation in team GPA,” said head coach Brendon Bray. “I am so proud that our team has represented the University of North Texas on the national stage in this important category. This really is a tribute to our incredible academic support staff and the work of every single team member."
To qualify for the CSCAA Team Scholar All-America award, a program must achieve a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The University of Alabama had the highest GPA in 2013 with a 3.60, and North Texas tied for second with Grand Canyon University and Southern Illinois, at 3.55.
