ROCKWALL, Texas- North Texas Swimming & Diving took part in prelims for the Sun Belt Swimming & Diving Championships on Wednesday morning. North Texas qualified seven swimmers for three finals events, and four more qualified to consolation finals. North Texas qualified four divers for the one diving final today.
11:47 a.m. - North Texas qualifies five for the eight finals spots in the 500 yard freestyle. Catia Weickgenant sets a North Texas season-best with a 4:53.60, making her the top qualifier for the finals.
12:01 p.m. - Rosa Gentile qualifies for the 200 yard individual medley finals with a time of 2:04.61, just off her school record time of 2:04.21, that she has tied this year.
12:07 p.m. - Seabre Pope qualifies for the 50 yard freestyle finals with a time of 23.28. She had the leading time in the Sun Belt Conference entering the meet.
2:38 p.m. - Four North Texas divers qualify for the finals of the three-meter diving. Delia Covo finishes third with a score 259.75, just under ten points off the top qualifying score.
Final events start at 6 p.m. in the Rockwall ISD Aquatics Center.
