Swimming In Fourth In Day One Of SBC Champs

Nashville, Tenn. (2/15/07)- The North Texas swimming and diving team sits in fourth place after day one of competition at the Sun Belt Conference Championships. So far, the team has broken three school records, and has posted three separate top-five times in school history.

 

Senior Gwen Rourke broke the school record in the 200 IM with a time of 2:07.60 during the preliminary round. She posted the fourth-fastest time in school history during finals when she swam a time of 2:09.36.

 

Freshman Alicia Hale set the second-fastest time in school history in the 200 IM with a time of 2:08.84. Hale also set the third-best time in school history in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:02.65. She now holds three individual school records and 11 separate top-five times in school history.

 

Freshman Nicole Leslie broke the school record in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.86 during the preliminary round.
