Mean Green Falls In Season's Final Tune Up




COLLEGE STATION, Texas (2/04/06) Despite some of the best times in school history, the North Texas swimming and diving team fell to 13th ranked Texas A&M 151-101.

 

The Mean Green was led by Alesha Olesen, who clipped the school record in the 100-yard butterfly. The freshman had a time of 59.33 in the second place finish.

 

Bonnie Garcia-Meitin put up the fifth fastest times in both the 50-yard freestyle and the 200-yard backstroke. The sophomore finished third in each with a time of 24.64 in the 50, and 2:06.28 in the 200.

 

The 200-yard medley relay team of Garcia-Meitin, Gwen Rourke, Olesen and Devon Dlouhy had the third best time in program history. The team finished fourth with a time of 1:51.37.

 

With its final tune-up meet in the rear view mirror, the Mean Green will finish preparing for the Sun Belt Conference Championships in Denver on Feb. 16-18.
