DALLAS (1/18/06) The eighth ranked SMU Mustangs downed the North Texas swimming and diving team 149-85 at the Perkins Natatorium on Wednesday night.
While the Mustangs dominated the night, the Mean Green shined in several events in the first full meet of the spring season.
Led by Betsmara Cruz, North Texas pulled out a 1-2-3 sweep in the 500 freestyle. Cruz led the Mean Green with a time of 5:17.40, followed by Christina Hammervold’s mark of 5:24.01 and Jamie Hosner’s 5:26.08.
Diver Lindsay Therrian notched season bests in both the one meter and three-meter dives. The junior put up 203.38 points on the one-meter dive and 187.50 on the three meter.
The Mean Green returns to action on Jan. 27 when it hosts Missouri State at the Student Recreation Center Pool.
