DENTON, Texas (1/13/10) -
North Texas Senior Alicia Hale was honored by the Sun Belt Conference for the second time this season on Wednesday for her efforts in a double-dual against UALR and Henderson State and against No. 18 Arkansas, being named Co-Swimmer of the Week.
She shared the award along with Florida Atlantic's Eszter Bucz.
Hale had a huge week, finishing in first in four events, second in two events and third once. She won the 200 freestyle in both meets, along with posting her third fastest time of the season in the 100 free at 52.19.
Hale was also a member of the 400 medley relay team that took first place in Little Rock.
Her two second place finishes came in the 200 backstroke and the 200 freestyle relay on Saturday against Arkansas. She also tallied a third place finish as part of the 200 medley relay against Arkansas.
Bucz was a catalyst for Florida Atlantic splitting a pair of dual matches as the freshman won five events. The Budapest, Hungary native won all three events she entered in Saturday's victory over Sun Belt Conference rival Florida International and twice against LSU earlier in the week.
North Texas will compete again Friday night at 6:30 p.m. in Fort Worth, Texas, against cross-town rival TCU.
