Johnson And Taylor Compete At NCAA Zone D Diving Championships

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -North Texas seniors Rebecca Taylor and Catherine Johnson competed in their final NCAA Zone D diving championship, hosted by Minnesota at the University Aquatic Center Mar. 10 through Mar. 12.

On the one-meter board, Taylor placed 31st with a score of 242.10 and Johnson was right behind with a score of 240.15.

On the three-meter board, Taylor finished in the top-30 with a score of 261.75. Last year she qualified for finals, this was the first time in school history. Johnson also placed in the top-30 with a score of 256.90.

This was the third straight NCAA Zone D championship qualification for both Taylor and Johnson, which they finished their collegiate career as the most decorated divers in program history.

Competition for the Mean Green has suspended yet the meet will continue tomorrow Mar. 12, with the platform diving championships.
