We are excited about your interest in the University of North Texas and Mean Green softball.
The 2013 Mean Green softball team won nine of its last 12 regular season games to record its third winning season in school history at 29-24. North Texas also tied a school record for most wins in a single season with 29. North Texas had a number of close games during the 2013 season. The Mean Green won seven 1-run ballgames and lost eight 1-run games. The Mean Green still was able to tie the school record for the best win total in school history. Notable wins in 2013 included Texas Tech, Oklahoma State on the road and No. 19 Baylor at home. North Texas broke a losing streak against ranked opponents with the 5-3 win against the Bears. Head coach Tracey Kee begins her first season as head coach of the Mean Green for the 2013-14 season.
Quick Hits On North Texas
While a member of the Sun Belt Conference, North Texas has captured 23 conference championships since 2001. Individually, 89 Mean Green student-athletes were named All-Sun Belt Conference during the 2012-13 school year. In its final year as a Sun Belt Conference member, the Mean Green won five conference championships, including four conference tournament titles. The five Sun Belt championships are the most that North Texas has ever won in a single season.

The Women's Softball Coaching Staff
Please note that, per NCAA rules, coaches can only respond via e-mail to juniors (after September 1) and seniors in high school. Coaches must mail responses to freshmen and sophomores, per NCAA rules. You can call any North Texas coach, but they cannot return your phone call unless you are a senior in high school.
North Texas played in a brand-new facility in 2006, Lovelace Stadium. Located next to the Mean Green Soccer Complex, Lovelace Stadium provides the Mean Green with an inviting competition venue. The team also has new indoor facilility, coaching offices and a locker room.

Academic Athletic Services
In the Fall of 2005, the academic and compliance staff relocated to the Mean Green Village. Located on Bonnie Brae, the new Student-Athlete Development Center is three times the size of the former academic center. The Center serves as the cornerstone of the Mean Green Village and is only a short walk from the surrounding sports facilities.
